A slim defeat against the RF Young Champs at the Nagoa Stadium.

The Men of Steel’s Youth squad suffered their first defeat of the Reliance Foundation Development League when they went toe-to-toe with the Tuskers in their previous fixture. Moving on after dropping points for the first time in the league, the Jamshedpur side faced the RF Young Champs for their next game with the objective to get back into the momentum they started off the league with.

After both sides attempted to take their side ahead in the opening moments, RF Young Champs gained an early lead. After a jinking move, Bhujel was fouled on the outside of the box after which Rashid curled a fantastic free kick expertly with a low drive into the bottom left corner, leaving the keeper with no chance to push the ball away to safety which took the Men of Steel to a disadvantageous position in the game.

Salman Faris of the RF Young Champs was a rock at the defence, making a crucial clearance from Lalruatmawia close’s attempt before Barla's shot hit the post and substitute Meitei skewed the rebound beyond. Meitei had a wonderful chance to make amends from the penalty spot early in the second half when Lalruatmawia was tripped inside the area. However, after sending the keeper the wrong way, the midfielder pulled his shot wide which kept the RF Young Champs still at an advantage.

Jamshedpur made a late drive for an equaliser, but RF Young Champs held strong as both clubs wasted late chances to land the ball into the back of the net. However, they were unsuccessful which ended the intense encounter in the away team’s favour instead.
