Jamshedpur FC

This Uttarakhand-born footballer has a splendid record under his name; his performance during his time with Sudeva FC in the U 18 I-League gave him an opportunity to move to Spain where he had a memorable stint with the Spanish club, Olímpic Xàtiva. 

Needless to say, the team formation will be looking stronger and more energetic than ever with him on-board.  

Here are a few excerpts from his first interview where he talks about his overall journey so far. 

On his time with Sudeva FC

Sudeva FC will always be special to me because not only did I get to learn so much about football during my time there but, it was also a major turning point in my life.

I was in school when I visited the club for trials for their U 15 Youth League team and then later, I played for them in the U 16 and U 18 Youth League where I scored a bunch of goals for them. That period of success motivated me to keep dreaming, keep pushing, and keep working hard. 

On his brief stint in Spain

Amazing! That is exactly how I felt because everyone dreams of playing abroad at least once in their career; and it's not just about playing and training there, it's also about learning and exploring the new culture and lifestyle. My time in Spain was full of obstacles; the language barrier being one of the most prominent ones. But, you know football itself is a language. Sometimes, while playing, you don't need to say anything. It's just about a particular moment and your instincts which help you make your choices. I made a couple of Spanish friends as well who helped me adapt to the system and the culture there. Also, playing with the youth team and training with the seniors helped me gain some tactical knowledge and grow professionally. 

I believe I am very fortunate that I got that opportunity to learn football from a Spanish team’s point of view and going forward, I would try my best to abide by these lessons.

Well, I already know my teammates and I have bonded well with them as I was part of the Indian national team during the World Cup U 17 preparatory camp. I am hopeful that together we will do a fantastic job to help the club grow. As far as challenges are concerned, I genuinely believe that anything we face as players is never against anyone else. It's always within us because, at the end of the day, the challenge of proving ourselves on a stage as big as ISL is definitely what we all are constantly thinking about.

On his three-year deal with Jamshedpur FC and his plans for the club

My aim is to bring the trophy home this season and help my teammates in every league and tournament we participate in. Personally, my aim is to just improve in every aspect of football whether it's on or off the pitch because there is always room for improvement. Nobody is perfect and we can all learn from our mistakes.

Hopefully, I can make all my Jamshedpur FC supporters proud of me.
