In My Own Words: Sergio Castel

Getting stuck in routine is hard to imagine. Getting stuck and not playing football, even harder. But that is what the worldwide lockdown has forced every single person to do, including our forward, Sergio Castel. From daily chores to how he keeps himself entertained and fit in the times of pandemic, here’s Castel in his own words - the lockdown edition.

“It hasn’t been the easiest which is why I have kept a routine for myself. Normally, I start the day with some training every morning for one or one and half hour. It’s a combination of running, jumping, sprinting and plyometric workouts. During the afternoon, I practice in the gym. Now that the situation is improving little by little in Spain, I have started playing football every now and then in my garden with a few friends while practicing the safety norms.

As far as my hobbies are concerned, I try to keep up with my love for movies. I also read a lot of books. I am also following the news a lot these days, trying to keep myself updated with the worldwide situation, reading a lot of articles on how long will it take to get things back to normal, before we start leading a normal life again etc . During the night I either play Ludo with my family or have movie nights with them.

I watch a lot of Netflix as well. Currently, I am binge-watching La Casa De Papel (Money Heist), Peaky Blinders and Vikings. My favourite movies are 300, Gladiator, Troy, and The Lord of the Rings and my favourite series is La Casa De Papel. Those are the types of movies and series I am currently watching.”
