Jamshedpur FC and Tata Steel Foundation Join Hands to Empower Grassroots Coaches

Jamshedpur, June 15: Jamshedpur FC has taken another significant step towards strengthening the football ecosystem in the region by conducting a specialised coaching workshop for Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) football coaches at the Tata Football Academy (TFA) in Jamshedpur.

The initiative is aimed at equipping grassroots coaches with modern football methodologies, technical knowledge, and contemporary coaching practices that are increasingly becoming essential in the professional game. The participating coaches have been divided into two groups, with the workshop set to continue over multiple sessions in the coming days.

Tata Steel Foundation currently operates nearly 100 football centres across Jharkhand and neighbouring regions, where coaches work with thousands of young footballers. Through this workshop, Jamshedpur FC's technical staff are sharing their expertise and experience from the professional game, helping grassroots coaches better understand player development pathways and modern training approaches.

The programme forms part of Jamshedpur FC's broader commitment towards community development and football growth in the region. The club has already been working closely with Tata Steel Foundation across various initiatives, with several players currently representing Jamshedpur FC's Under-14 and Under-16 teams having emerged from TSF's grassroots football centres.

By strengthening the capabilities of coaches at the grassroots level, the club hopes to create a stronger development pipeline for young footballers aspiring to reach elite academies and professional football.
Speaking about the workshop, Arshad Hussain, who is overseeing the programme, said: "We are seeing a lot of potential in the coaches who are part of this initiative. Our aim is to help them understand the requirements of the professional football environment and bring them closer to that setup. When coaches improve, the players benefit directly. Ultimately, we want to increase the chances of talented children from these centres progressing into academies and, one day, becoming professional footballers."
