Jamshedpur FC

Jamshedpur FC continued preparations for the Indian Super League 2017-18 as they faced Chiangmai FC in a pre-season friendly in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The match was set to be played in wet weather conditions as rain tried to play spoilsport in Chiang Mai.

Jamshedpur FC dominated from the word go as our boys launched some decent attacks in the initial exchanges of the game. The most noteworthy attempts involved young forwards Farukh Choudhary and Siddharth Singh combining with our Brazilian magician Trindade.

One of the attempts included a spectacular effort from Trindade as he attempted a shot from outside the box, forcing a corner in return.

On the 18^th minute, Chiangmai FC scored against the run of play. The opposition won a free-kick in our defensive third and the resulting free-kick was capitalized upon by Chiangmai as their player headed them into the lead.

Jamshedpur tried getting back into the game almost instantly as they put pressure on the Chiang Mai defence. At the half hour mark, Jamshedpur won a series of corners which saw a Mehtab Hossain shot parried away and an Andre Bikey header hit the post and went out of play.

Chiang Mai caved into the pressure created by Jamshedpur as they conceded a free-kick outside the box. Mehtab Hossain took responsibility of the free-kick and forced a deflection to put Jamshedpur on level terms in the 36^th minute.

The rest of the half saw both teams trying to get into the lead as both sets of players attempted to get the perfect ball into the final third.

At half-time, the match stood level at 1-1.

Jamshedpur FC seemed rejuvenated in the second half after play resumed. The boys started the second half just as they started the first with all forwards combining well in the final third.

On the 47^th minute, Jerry sent a scrumptious cross into the box to an unmarked Farukh Choudhary. The Mumbaikar went for glory as he attempted a bicycle kick which forced the keeper to save.

The match settled down a bit as we started moving deep into the second half with both teams trying to win the midfield battle. Steve Coppell introduced a few changes.

On the 66^th minute, Jamshedpur FC won a free-kick outside the box. Sameehg Doutie took responsibility of taking the free-kick and he scored with finesse to get Jamshedpur in the lead.

The rest of the match saw few chances come by for both teams. Jamshedpur tried to defend the hard-earned lead and played on the counter.

At full time, the match ended in favour of us with the scoreline reading, Jamshedpur FC 2-1 Chiangmai FC.
