Jamshedpur FC Reserves get a double over the ISL Champions’ Reserves Team

Jamshedpur FC Reserves beat Chennaiyin FC Reserves 2-0 away from home at SSN College Ground in Chennai. This was the second win (in the 2nd Division I-League as well as vs Chennaiyin FC Reserves) for the youngsters that helped their points tally to reach seven points in six matches.

Gourav Mukhi (11') broke the deadlock early on, slotting the ball infront of an empty net. Goalkeeper Sayak Barai had done well to pull off a double save but Mukhi took advantage of the loose ball inside the box. At the other end, Jamshedpur FC Reserves custodian Harpreet Singh kept shots from Prosenjit Chakraborty and B. Rohmingthanga at bay. Hilal Parray’s men doubled their lead just before half-time through Harsha Parui (43') as he ran in behind the Chennaiyin defence and netted with 'keeper Sayak wrong-footed.

Mukhi had a chance to bring up his brace but could only hit the upright around the hour mark. The resolute Jamshedpur FC Reserves defence held on to earn their second victory of the campaign. The Jharkhand-based side are 5th in Group ‘C’ with seven points in their kitty after six games. The Reserves next host Kolkata's Mohammedan Sporting at The Furnace on 21st April.
