Jamshedpur FC Suffer Narrow 1-0 Defeat to FC Goa, Finish Fourth in RFDL 2024-25
Mumbai, April 14: Jamshedpur FC Reserves concluded their impressive Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) 2024-25 campaign with a narrow 1-0 defeat to FC Goa in the third-place playoff at Reliance Corporate Park, Navi Mumbai.
The decisive goal came early in the 15th minute when FC Goa capitalised on a quick attacking move, breaching the Jamshedpur defence to take the lead. Despite going behind, the young Red Miners showed great spirit and pushed hard for an equaliser, particularly in the second half.
Jamshedpur FC created multiple opportunities after the break. Lalhriatpuia came close with a powerful effort from the edge of the box that went just over, while Bivan Jyoti Laskar continued to trouble the FC Goa backline with his runs and pressing. However, the finishing touch was missing as Jamshedpur struggled to convert chances into goals.
Despite the defeat, it was a proud campaign for Jamshedpur FC, who finished fourth nationally in a competition that featured the best youth teams from across the country. With standout performances throughout the tournament and a squad built primarily around U-17 and U-18 talent, the team has laid a strong foundation for the future.
