Jamshedpur FC's young custodian Vishal Yadav selected to play for Team India in Asian Games 2023
Jamshedpur FC's young goalkeeper, Vishal Yadav has been selected to play for the Indian National Football Team in the upcoming Asian Games 2023. This comes as huge news for the young custodian as this will be his first opportunity where to don the Blue Tigers' jersey. Vishal made some notable performances in the Indian Super League 2022-23 season, even outperforming many seasoned Indian goalkeepers something that was noted by the selectors. His calm and patient nature even in tough situations has earned him many plaudits making him a deserving candidate to represent the dream of more than 1.4 billion people at the Asian Games 2023.
Vishal Yadav is proof of a thriving and successful youth system in Jamshedpur. The famous Tata Football Academy (TFA) has produced some incredible talent over the years, and Vishal is a product of the system that the academy can be very proud of. He worked his way up the youth team ranks before joining the first team ahead of the 2020-21 Hero Indian Super League season. In a short period of time, Vishal has made himself the toast of the Steel City. He made his debut for Jamshedpur against ATK Mohun Bagan now named as Mohun Bagan Super Giant in early December and never looked back.
And ecstatic Vishal said, “I started playing football at the age of 12 years and I was another young kid who aspired to be a professional footballer which is how my football journey started. I am so proud to have the opportunity to represent India and I will give my all to help the team and also take this opportunity to learn from the senior players."
The Asian Games is being held in the city of Hangzhou in China and begins on September 23.
