Young winger Jerry Mawia’s impressive performances in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 with Jamshedpur FC helped him grab the Football Players Association of India (FPAI) Young Player of the Year award in Kolkata earlier today.

The Mizo-born player was a real menace for defenders with his smart runs and quick passing. On winning the award, a humble Jerry said, “I would like to thank everyone who has supported me in building my career. I want to continue doing as well as possible and improve myself.”

During the season with Jamshedpur FC, Jerry went on to win various individual match awards like ‘Emerging Player of the Match’ & ‘Winning Pass of the Match’.

In March this year, Jerry signed an extension to stay put at the club till 2020 to the delight of the fans.
