Jamshedpur, November 20: The Jamshedpur Super League (JSL), India’s largest and most inclusive grassroots football festival, is set to kick off its U-15 and U-13 categories from Friday onwards at the Tinplate Sports Complex. This marks a major milestone for the tournament as the U-15 age group is being introduced for the very first time, further expanding the league’s reach and developmental impact.

There will be 10 matches in the U13 category, which will start at 2.30 PM while there will be 16 matches played in the U15 category that will be played from 3 PM onward at Tinplate Ground.

The community branches of the JSL have also been expanding rapidly. This season features 11 teams in the Mothers’ League with 132 participants, and 16 teams in the Fathers’ League with 192 players, a massive jump driven by rising enthusiasm across Jamshedpur’s families.

Highlighting the significance of the league’s continued growth, Kundan Chandra, Head of Grassroots and Youth Development at Jamshedpur FC, said, “This is a bigger league compared to last year’s inaugural edition. When parents and children take the field, it creates a natural ecosystem where football becomes part of everyday life. These kind of tournaments are essential to sustain interest in the game and ensure that football remains alive and thriving in Jamshedpur.”

With the U-15 and U-13 categories now joining the lineup, the Jamshedpur Super League strengthens its position as a complete grassroots-to-community football ecosystem, one that continues to shape young talent while uniting the city through the beautiful game.
