Jamshedpur’s Mohammed Sanan Earns Senior National Team Camp Call-Up
Jamshedpur, September 14: Jamshedpur FC forward Mohammed Sanan has taken another major leap in his career after being named among the 30 probables for the Indian Senior National Team camp ahead of the AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers against Singapore. The camp, under head coach Khalid Jamil, will begin in Bengaluru on September 20, with the final squad for the two qualifiers to be picked from this group.
India will face Singapore twice in Group C of the final round qualifiers — first at the National Stadium in Singapore on October 9, followed by the return fixture at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Margao, on October 14.
For Sanan, the call-up is a reward for his impressive rise over the past season. The 20-year-old winger delivered a breakthrough campaign with Jamshedpur FC in the 2024–25 Indian Super League, where his pace and direct attacking play made him one of the standout young performers. His ability to impact games both as a starter played a key role in JFC’s strong push through the latter stages of the league.
That form carried into the international stage with the India U23 team. Sanan was part of the squad that competed in Doha earlier this year, where he provided a crucial assist against Qatar U23 in a high-intensity encounter. He also featured in the two friendlies against Iraq U23 in Malaysia last month, continuing to sharpen his attacking output against top-level opposition. He also scored his first international goal in India U23 friendly match against Uzbekistan.
Now, his consistency at both club and international youth level has earned recognition from the senior national team setup.
