#JFCMCFC Opponent Watch

Jamshedpur faced another blow after getting defeated by ATK Mohun Bagan. It was a very close contest of football, however, in the end, Roy Krishna helped ATK Mohun Bagan bag the 3 points that Jamshedpur needed to climb up the league table.

After the disheartening outcome, Jamshedpur will now focus on the next game in hand against another top team in the league, Mumbai City FC, for the second time this season. Needless to say, the squad will be seeking to grab the crucial 3 points from this fixture as well as the next one against Bengaluru FC.

As the Men of Steel gear up to face the Islanders tomorrow night, check out some of the players in Mumbai City FC who could pose a threat to the Men of Steel.

Bipin Singh

Bipin started his youth career in 2008. He was picked up by ATK FC in the 2017-18 season after playing for Shillong Lajong FC and scored the first goal of the season for the team in his debut season. After playing 15 matches and scoring twice for the Islanders in the previous season, Bipin has upped his game this season; currently, he has 2 goals and 4 assists under his belt. He has been a dominant presence in the mid field and will be a major threat to Jamshedpur while being a strong connection between the backline and the attacking line up for Mumbai City FC.

Amrinder Singh

The man at goal from Punjab has played for clubs like Pune FC, Bengaluru FC and ATK FC before becoming the keeper for Mumbai City FC. Although he has made appearances for the national team, he is yet to become the first choice for India. Amrinder has bagged the Golden Glove Award with Mumbai City FC in his first season and he has been immovable from the starting XI ever since. His strong presence at goal and coordination with the squad, combined with his quick reflexes has helped him keep 8 clean sheets this season and he will be looking forward to upping that number against Jamshedpur FC.

Ahmed Jahouh

Moroccon midfielder, Ahmed Jahouh, joined FC Goa in the 2017-18 season and established himself as one of the best midfielders in the ISL; he was the player with most passes and tackles in his first two seasons in India. Jahouh has played football at the highest level with the Morocco national team, as well as in the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup. He joined Mumbai City FC this season and has already put forth a strong performance; he is currently leading the charts with most number of tackles (122) and 1000+ passes and touches. Given the statistics, one can easily say that Ahmed will be a strong presence in the midfield with his through balls and a sharp eye for empty spaces.

Adam Le Fondre

The loan signing of Le Fondre is the biggest signing of the season for Mumbai City. In 14 seasons in English football, Le Fondre netted 183 goals and made 44 assists in 532 appearances. Adam Le Fondre is an essential part of the dangerous attacking force of the Islanders. He has helped the team with multiple fast-paced attacks and has created loads of chances leading to goals. Adam is currently competing for the Golden Boot award with 11 goals to his name and will look to add onto his tally tomorrow night.

Bartholomew Ogebeche

Ogbeche moved to France to join the youth team of Paris Saint-Germain at the age of 15. He joined NorthEast United FC before the 2018-19 season, and immediately showed his goal-scoring abilities as he ended his debut season with 12 goals. He also scored 15 goals with Kerala Blasters FC in the 2019-20 season. Now a crucial striker for Mumbai City FC, Ogbeche continues to perform strongly. With 5 goals and 1 assist in 17 matches this season, Ogbeche will be one of the biggest threats that the Jamshedpur defensive line-up will have to be vigilant about throughout the 90 minutes.
