Loyola Power Rangers thrash PJP Little Stars 5-0 in U9 category match during Week 29 of Jamshedpur Golden Baby League
The Loyola School U9 age category team of Loyola Power Rangers were victorious in one of their matches during the 29th week of the Jamshedpur Golden Baby League as they beat PJP Little Stars 5-0 at the Tata Football Academy (TFA) ground in Jamshedpur.
The two teams have been an integral part of the Baby League since its inception and showcased their quality once again in another entertaining day of action at JRD Tata Sports Complex and TFA.
This was the first week without the U5 category students as they completed their Baby League matches and also saw the U7s and U9s shift to TFA in order to incorporate the U11s and U13s at Archery Ground at JRD Tata Sports Complex.
The second edition of the Jamshedpur Golden Baby League 2023, hosted by Jamshedpur FC in conjunction with Jharkhand Football Association (JFA), Jharkhand Sporting Association (JSA), and backed by Reliance Foundation has been divided into U5, U7, U9, U11 and U13 categories for the benefit of kids across the city.
The 10-month long tournament is held every Sunday morning at the Archery Ground at JRD Tata Sports Complex, and has also expanded to the Tata Football Academy (TFA) to incorporate the growing number of students. The plan is to nurture development and add to the existing grassroots schools program run by Jamshedpur FC during the week after school hours.
A total of 1,546 students turned up this Sunday, highlighting the popularity of the Baby League across Jamshedpur. As many as 343 students turned up in the U7s, 621 students in the U9s, 276 students in the U11s, and 306 in the U13s.
The U7s played 38 matches, while the U13s and U11s played 14 matches each. As many as 42 matches were played by the U9s to round up the day’s proceedings and get the age categories up to speed.
The Baby League will now continue to be played at both the Archery ground at JRD Tata Sports Complex as well as TFA with the possibility of more venues being added in the future.
