Match Report: Jamshedpur FC Reserves suffer defeat at the hands of Mohammedan Sporting

Jamshedpur FC Reserves played out their first match in the Second Division I-League 2017-18 as they suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Mohammedan Sporting.

The Kolkata club were the more dominant side in the initial stages as they took control of possession and forced Harpreet Singh to make a couple of saves.

The young guns of Jamshedpur FC Reserves kept the opposition quiet for over half an hour, but the hosts finally managed to break the deadlock. Mohammedan Sporting’s striker Debasis Pradhan scored with a sublime finish past Harpreet Singh.

Mohammedan soon doubled their lead as their Captain, Jiten Murmu, scored from a corner routine and carried a 2-0 lead into half time.

The second half saw Jamshedpur FC Reserves try to take control of the game as the attack displayed great fight and grit, but the Mohammedan defence was always upto the challenge.

The young boys of the Tata Football Academy based outfit managed to pull one back through Vijay Kumar, who buried in a powerful throw in past the Mohammedan Sporting keeper.

At full time, the score ended 2-1 in the favour of the hosts at the Barasat Stadium. Jamshedpur FC Reserves will be in action soon again in the Second Division I-League as they play host to TRAU FC on 20th March 2018. Details of the match will be updated soon.
