Nigerian Super Eagle Stephen Eze Charged Up for JFC’s Super Cup Campaign

Jamshedpur, September 16: Stephen Eze is back in Jamshedpur FC colours and is ready to make his presence felt.

The Nigerian defender, who missed the Durand Cup due to visa issues, has returned to push the Men of Steel forward in the Super Cup.

Eze’s absence in the Durand Cup was a sore point, but his focus is firmly on the challenge ahead. “I wasn’t happy to miss the Durand Cup, but that’s behind me. I’m happy to be back, fully charged, and looking forward to a strong campaign in the Super Cup,” he said.

Last season, Eze was one of JFC’s most consistent performers, racking up over 1,800 minutes along with three goals and an assist. But he refuses to rest on past numbers. “Last season is gone. This is a new season, and I’m committed to being better than before. That’s the mindset every player should have to improve and achieve more for the team.”

Known for his threat in both boxes, Eze remains grounded about his role. “Defending comes first, but if I can add goals or assists, it’s a bonus. My focus is on improving every area of my game,” he added.

The towering defender also reserved his strongest words for the supporters who make the Furnace a fortress. “The fans were incredible last season, standing by us in good and bad times. That shows real character. We will fight to make them proud again. With them behind us, the Furnace will always be our fortress.”
