Second-half strikes power Jamshedpur FC U14 to 2-0 away win over SP One Foundation

Jamshedpur, February 4: Jamshedpur FC Under-14 registered their second consecutive win in the AIFF Sub-Junior League with a convincing 2-0 victory over SP One Foundation in their first away match, played in Howrah on Wednesday.

After a goalless first half, Jamshedpur FC stepped up the tempo after the break and were rewarded with two well-taken goals from Subham Behera and Kartik Marandi to seal all three points.

From the opening minutes, Jamshedpur FC enjoyed the edge, creating several scoring opportunities, but lacked the final touch in the first half. The breakthrough finally arrived in the 52nd minute when Subham Behera showed good awareness inside the box, pouncing on a rebound and calmly slotting the ball home to give JFC the lead.

Jamshedpur continued to press for a second goal, with Kartik Marandi and Karthikeyan both going close, only to see their efforts go wide. The pressure eventually told in the 85th minute when Kartik produced a moment of quality, dribbling past a couple of defenders before unleashing a fine strike from the edge of the box to double the lead.

With this win, Jamshedpur FC Under-14 sit atop Group ‘G’ with six points from two matches. The young Men of Steel will next be in action away from home once again, as they face Inter Kashi in Varanasi on February 10.
