Tiri is here to make a mark in the Indian Super League

Jose Lois Espinosa Arroyo (Tiri) has been one of the robust defenders in the Indian Super League (ISL). He has already had the taste of success during his stint with the ATK. And now he has arrived in Jamshedpur to showcase his prowess in the forthcoming season of the ISL.

The left-footed defender has been a part of Cadiz and Atletico Madrid ‘B’ sides and now he has carried his bag of experience to Jamshedpur FC. He is going to be one of the key players in their debut campaign of the ISL. Prior to the start of the league, Tiri spoke to our media team:

On how his experience of Spanish football is different from Indian Football…

The difference of playing in Cadiz and Atletico Madrid is that I always played in the second team. Here in India, it is very different. I am playing alongside world-class and experienced talent.

On his major Indian attraction…

Honestly, the competition is on a different level here. I have done well and have brushed shoulders with world-class players and that caught my attention to come to India and grow as a player and as a person.

On forming partnerships with fellow defenders…

My relationship with everyone is very good. I have known Bikey for 3 weeks and I am learning a lot from him. I spent less time with him but I have known him from past seasons. He is a great player and he has everything that a central defender must have. From Kima, I see that he is still young and he has a lot to learn as he has qualities in him. Robin and Anas are two extremely important defenders in India as well. Then we also have Shouvik and Raju (Yumnam) who have impressed in training.
