Cesar Ferrando examines our 2 – 2 draw against Delhi Dynamos

After a massive win against FC Goa, Jamshedpur FC was all set to face its next challenge against Delhi Dynamos with intent to bag another three points. The battle begun in a smooth way with our opponent controlling the possession of the ball, but Sergio Cidoncha takes charge and changes the plot by putting Jamshedpur FC on the lead through a counter-attacking move.

The second half began with Jamshedpur FC on the lead, the away side was extremely confident on bagging the three points, but it was short-lived as Chhangte scores an equalizer for Delhi.

It became an edge of the seat thriller in the end with Delhi Dynamos on the lead as Carmona scores a goal for the home side. The game became extensively intensifying with Delhi Dynamos desperately trying to attain their first three points and Jamshedpur FC trying to defend their unbeaten run. With Tiri’s timely header, it was the latter that made it’s mark in the end.

Cesar Ferrando examined our encounter against Delhi Dynamos in the capital and shared his view points in the post-match press conference. Here are the excerpts…

On Jamshedpur FC’s performance…

We played well in the first half, and in the second half we made multiple mistakes while Delhi played well and came back into the game. In the final minutes my team was a bit tired, but I’m happy with the equalizer and the fact that we didn’t lose the game. We have to look ahead now and focus on Pune.

On 2 – 2 Draw…

We lost two points, I’m disappointed with the final score, but that’s football. Three days ago, we played an intense match against FC Goa and just after that we had to travel from Jamshedpur to Delhi, the team was indeed tired.

We wanted to play the ball and make short passes. I think we didn’t move the ball quick enough and played slowly in general. We came here to win but we had to settle for a draw.

On the long break…

We played four matches in a row, in ten days, and it was a big challenge for us. I think this break will help the players rest. Also, the matches we played were against good teams with the lot of travel in a short period of time.

After this much deserved break, The Men of Steel will be fit and ready to battle against Pune.
