- Jamshedpur FC to begin grassroots football school in the coming weeks at DWPS School.
Jamshedpur FC engaged over 150 students in a grassroots festival organized by the club at Delhi World Public School in the Bhilaipahari area of Mango. This was the club’s 16th football festival conducted since the inception of it’s grassroots programme back in July 2018 and has engaged over 4000 kids.
The kids aged between 5 to 12 years of age were made to engage in 15 different type of games which was aimed to enhance their skills on different fields like strength, co-ordination, balancing, focus, concentration, self-confidence etc.
From Delhi World Public School Chairperson, Mrs. Rajmani Singh, Director, Mrs. Archana Raj and Principal Mr. Sanjay Jogai were present to boost confidence in the children.
The school’s principal was ecstatic to see the kids having fun with football as he said, “I am thankful to Jamshedpur FC for conducting a grassroots festival for our school’s students. It was a wonderful experience for all my children, especially girls as we are looking to promote girls’ football and awareness. The technical expertise provided by Jamshedpur FC is something that we are looking forward to as the coaches trained by the club are very good. The kids were excited about the festival and we happy to see them engaged in scientific and fun-based activities via their favourite sport.”
Head of Grassroots at Jamshedpur FC, Kundan Chandra was delighted to see the massive participation. He said, “It’s always a delight to see such young boys and girls playing football. Our aim is to engage as many kids as possible in the ABCD of grassroots training (ABCD – Agility, Balance, Coordination and Decision Making) at an early age so that they learn the basics of the game. And with the amazing facilities available at Delhi World Public School, it was amazing to conduct the football festival here.”
The club in association with the school, will begin a football school in the coming weeks within the school premises.
