Jamshedpur Football Club’s first Grassroots Football Festival

Jamshedpur Football Club held its first Grassroots Football festival at the Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium collaborating with Hill Top School, Jamshedpur under aegis of Mr. Kundan Chandra, Head of Youth Development and Grassroots Jamshedpur FC.

The festival saw a stupendous response as over 670 children registered and participated between the age group of 3-12 years from the Hill Top School.

The festival commenced at 7:45 am and was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mr. Ravi Singh, Head Human Resource, Tata Motors along with distinguished guests such as Mr. Mukul Choudhari (CEO Jamshedpur FC), Mr. Ashish Kumar (Head of Sports Tata Steel), Mrs. Puneeta B Chouhan (Principal, Hill Top School) and other managing committee members of the Hill Top School.

The students of the Hill Top School volunteered and compered for the entire festival along with 35 Red Miners members who helped in the overall operations. The children were mentored by 20 Grassroots leaders from the course held last month and more than 10 parents volunteered in organizing the festival.

Mr. Mukul Choudhari, CEO Jamshedpur FC added, “It’s an amazing experience to see so many kids and their parents to be involved and engaged. This is a great sign for the future of Indian football. Our objective is to start training at an early age with a more scientific approach and this should be achieved with such response. We are not very far away from the time where we will create good football players from this system. We will take this format and programme to all the other schools of Jamshedpur and other cities. So far, the response has been overwhelming from the schools and the parents. We wish they continue to support us.”

Mrs. Puneeta B Chouhan, Principal, Hill Top School added, “We are absolutely proud to collaborate with Jamshedpur FC. My school children from nursery right up to the age group of under 12 are ready to play. This festival is generating awareness amongst the parents about the culture of the sport and this in turn help the children to learn team work, team spirit and lot of values about life. More and more students are enquiring and showing interest in taking up the sport going forward. Three cheers to Jamshedpur FC.”
