Opponent Watch - Bengaluru FC

Jamshedpur FC are set to host one of the most consistent and best performing teams in the ISL in Bengaluru FC. Very few sides can compete with the depth and quality that is present in the Bengaluru FC squad ensuring the fact that Jamshedpur FC will have to be at their level best in order to get that elusive victory.

Whenever these two sides meet, a lot of talking points emerge after the game and this has often been a cagey affair. Last season, Jamshedpur FC were able to inflict a 1 - 0 defeat to Bengaluru FC at their home in what was one the best all-round performance by Jamshedpur FC. The Blues will be more than willing to return the favour this time around.

What makes Bengaluru FC one of the most feared outfit in the league is the balance that they have in their first team and the sheer quality they possess up front with the trio of Sunil Chhetri, Miku and Udanta Singh who can tear apart any defence in the league. Another positive for Bengaluru FC is the fact that you cannot pinpoint a glaring weakness in their squad or style of play.

The quality of their squad was on display when the blues were a man down in the first half against FC Goa, an away victory for the Gaurs looked the most probable. However, the Blues dug deep in the second half and managed to score three goals. What was more impressive was the fact that they had achieved this feat in the absence of Sunil Chhetri, Erik Paartalu and Albert Serran!

A position which often gets overlooked is the crucial role that a goalkeeper plays for his side. He should be a calming influence and must deliver whenever called upon by his side and Bengaluru's Gurpreet Singh Sandhu has done nothing short of that. The Indian goalkeeper has registered the most saves (55) in the league and is third among the most clean sheets, only bettered by Pawan Kumar and Amrinder Singh of NorthEast United and Mumbai City FC respectively. Gurpreet is considered one of the best in his position in the league and rightly so.

With the prospect of the play-offs looming large, Bengaluru FC head coach Carles Cuadrat has already mentioned the fact that he is going to rest his key players. This should give an added boost for Jamshedpur FC in their effort to end their season on a positive note and give the fans something to look forward to for next season.

When it comes to fan following, Jamshedpur FC are said to have one of the best set of fans in the league. Moreover, the Furnace is jam-packed more often than not. All of this ensures that the Jamshedpur FC players will give their all to achieve a victory in their last home game of the season.
