“Our motivation is to qualify for the semi-finals, not revenge” – Steve Coppell

Jamshedpur FC Head Coach, Steve Coppell, interacted with the media ahead of the quarter-final clash with FC Goa. Here’s what transpired during the pre-match press conference:

On fatigue after a long match vs Minerva…

We had quite a long time to recover. Our match with Minerva Punjab FC was on 2nd April, os that’s a 10-day gap between the two rounds. We are fine physically and looking forward to the clash with FC Goa.

On the match vs FC Goa…

FC Goa triumphed twice when we played them in the ISL. So, it’s an opportunity for us to win the game.

It’s nothing to do with revenge really. Our motivation is to qualify for the semi-finals as we would like to go far and maybe even win the tournament.

On the last result vs FC Goa playing on their minds…

Our last match had our goalkeeper sent off in the 8th minute and we were playing 10v11 for majority of the game. This match gives the closest possible opportunity to recreate that match and hopefully help us see how we stand vs Goa in an 11v11 situation.
