"We have to have hope." - Coach Iriondo expresses his thoughts post #BFCJFC

Where Kanteerava roared with joy for the home team, the night for Jamshedpur FC ended on the wrong side of the wishful outcome. Chances were made, possesions were strong, but the team struggled to convert the attempts and lost to the defending champions by a score of 2-0. Speaking at the post-match press conference, head coach Antonio expressed his thoughts and what went wrong tonight.

On tonight's performance

If you look at the statistics, we had almost 65% of the ball, we created more chances. Gurpreet Singh Sandhu made some great saves, compared our keeper who did not have to make that many saves. All the stats are in our favour. However, what mattered was what happened inside the box. They scored the goals, we didn’t. In football, the penalty area is a vital part of the pitch and that’s why we didn’t get the win.

On the team's current performance compared to the team's winning presentation at the start of the season

Obviously, it’s a bit more difficult now but we have to have hope. This is a condition every sportsman needs to face. We must keep working, keep trying to improve. We need to wait to get back our injured players and we must have enough will power to fight for the top four.

On David Grande's debut against Bengaluru FC

He had a tough game because Bengaluru is a defensive team. It’s quite difficult to create and find chances when the opponent is defending so deep. Even though he had one chance, their keeper was very good. It was a good game for him. He played under a difficult situation, but he did create one chance.
