“We want to stay in the title race desperately,” – Andre Bikey

Jamshedpur FC will be squaring off against Northeast United FC for the second time in the ongoing season of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 at The Furnace on February 10.  Robust defender Andre Bikey, is all set to face his former side once again but before the clash, he spoke his heart out. Here’s what he had to say:

On facing his former side once again…

This time it is special. This time the contest is totally different. We want to make it to the top four desperately. Northeast United FC will be close to my heart but in football, we must be professional. I now play for Jamshedpur FC and I want to perform well for my current side. It is going to be a good game as they are coming into this fixture on the back of a hard-fought draw against FC Goa. They will be high on morale. However, we will keep working hard and try and get those three points and stay in the race.

On winning four out of last five games…

These wins motivate us to do better. Those victories have put us in a really good position. We must now win every game from here on. The momentum is with us and we must keep it going. We need to go out there, score goals and win games. We have reached a stage where we cannot afford to drop points anymore.

On the day-offs spent in Mumbai…

I was just chilling and tried to rest as much as I could. Those two weeks were really long. We just played and travelled. The day offs were much needed as we needed to relax. I also visited the families of my teammates who are from Mumbai.
