10-Man Jamshedpur FC go down to NorthEast United FC

Guwahati, October 26: Ten-man Jamshedpur FC went down to NorthEast United FC, 5-0, in the Indian Super League match away match played at Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium here on Saturday.

The match began on a difficult note for the Men of Steel, with NorthEast United FC’s Alaaeddine Ajaraie finding the net in the 5th minute. Adding to the setback, Jamshedpur FC defender Stephen Eze was shown a second yellow card in the 29th minute, leaving the team down a player for the remainder of the game.

Head Coach Khalid Jamil quickly brought in Yamboi Muirang for winger Mohammed Sanan, but the absence of Eze at the back left gaps that NorthEast United FC exploited.

Despite the scoreline, Jamshedpur FC showed resilience, creating chances to get back into the game. Rei Tachikawa was a threat, coming close to scoring twice, while Jordan Murray and Seminlen Doungel also had promising moments.

However, the team was unable to convert these chances, and NorthEast United FC continued to capitalize on their opportunities, with Alaaeddine Ajaraie making it a brace, Parthib Gogol adding two more goals and Macarton Nickson scoring in the 82nd minute.

Jamshedpur FC will look to bounce back at home, taking on Chennaiyin FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in their next fixture on November 4.
