Mumbai, March 26: Bivan Jyoti Laskar netted a brilliant hat-trick as Jamshedpur FC breezed past Kickstart FC Karnataka with a commanding 4-0 victory in their second match of the Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) National Group Stage at Reliance Corporate Park, Navi Mumbai. With this emphatic win, Jamshedpur FC now tops Group A with six points from two matches.
Jamshedpur FC wasted no time in asserting their dominance, taking the lead just five minutes into the match. Lawmsangzuala was brought down inside the box by Kickstart FC goalkeeper Shijin S, prompting the referee to award a penalty. Shijin was also shown a yellow card for the reckless challenge. Amzard Khan stepped up and confidently slotted the spot kick past the goalkeeper to give Jamshedpur FC an early 1-0 advantage.
Lawmsangzuala continued to be a menace for the Kickstart FC defense and played a key role in doubling Jamshedpur FC’s lead. In the 30th minute, he delivered a perfectly timed defense-splitting pass to a rushing Bivan Jyoti Laskar, who made no mistake in placing his shot past the goalkeeper. Just before halftime, Bivan struck again, albeit in an unusual fashion. Attempting to deliver a cross into the box, his effort deceived the Kickstart goalkeeper and curled straight into the top left corner, making it 3-0 in the 42nd minute.
Kickstart FC had a rare opportunity to pull one back in the 45th minute when Saikhom Borish Singh found himself in a scoring position but failed to convert. The second half saw Jamshedpur FC maintain their control, and at the hour mark, Bivan put the game beyond doubt. The in-form forward dribbled past multiple Kickstart defenders before coolly finishing to complete his hat-trick and secure a dominant 4-0 win for Jamshedpur FC.
With two wins from two matches, Jamshedpur FC now sits at the top of Group A and will look to carry this momentum into their next clash against NorthEast United FC on March 29.
