#KBFCJFC Match Preview: Boxing day battle against the Tuskers

The Jamshedpur squad battled it out at the Athletic Stadium against the Blues to draw out one point from the goalless draw in their previous league fixture. After sharing the spoils with Bengaluru FC, the Men of Steel will now face their next opponents for their last game of the year 2021, against Kerala Blasters FC. The two teams have always had intense yet entertaining games.

The last two meetings between the two were really tight fixtures and led to some great contests of football in the Hero ISL. Their first meeting in the previous season was filled with goals as the two squads kept upping each other with the full-time score being 3-2 with Jamshedpur, unfortunately, being at the losing end.

In their second meeting, the two squads gave each other a tough fight and kept a strong defensive approach at both ends. Despite the game ending in a goalless draw, the game was full of chances, quick counter-attacks, and brilliant defence shown by the two sides. The game ended with both teams sharing a point each while keeping a clean sheet as well.

Now the two meet at the Tilak Maidan to battle it out with upgraded squads and even more hunger to produce as many wins as possible in the first half of the league. Jamshedpur FC and Kerala Blasters FC had played against each other in 2 tough pre-season games ahead of their 2021-22 season. "When you're playing a very good team as Kerala Blasters then it’s obviously an exciting fixture to look forward to. They have an outstanding coach, somebody who is good with his footballing and coaching abilities. He's a very nice person whom I like spending time with. I spoke to him in the pre-season. But he is well aware that for the duration of the match, we'll be going all out to win and even they will, as it should be. So I think we're in the makings of a very anticipated match with two really positive attack-minded teams going head-to-head," said Owen Coyle at the pre-match press conference of #KBFCJFC.

The Men of Steel have had a good start to the season with just 1 loss in 7 games and have been at the top end of the table from the get-go. On the other hand, Kerala Blasters did not have the desired beginning to their campaign but have buckled up and have come back with big margin wins over the defending champions, Mumbai City FC, and then against Chennaiyin FC in their previous game. The two sides will be stepping up to the pitch with the aim of taking an advantage over the other and grabbing the 3 winning points to move up the table and close the year on a positive note with a victory.

Here's their current record of head-to-head between them:
