The #FCGJFC game was a thrilling one and CK Vineeth had a lot to say for his team, for FC Goa and how crucial the win was from ISL standings point of view.
Thoughts on kick starting the season with an away game
It's nice to be back. This is the first away win for us and I am very happy to be a part of it. It's been a tough start for me with the injury at the start of the season. I was out for almost one and a half months and just two-three days ago, I joined the team. But overall, I am looking forward to the upcoming matches.
Thoughts on winning against FC Goa
I think we played really well compared to our last away performance against ATK. I do however feel we could have scored more. I had a few chances of my own, Farukh as well. We should have scored more. Of course, at the end of the day, it was a good match and we played really well to get those 3 points. So, all’s well.
Thoughts on feeling the pressure of going up against a team like FC Goa
We always play to score goals. We may miss chances as well. It is a part and parcel of this game. If you play well, that is what counts the most. While when you play against someone like FC Goa and you miss chances, it's generally something to worry about. But when you have defenses like Memo, Tiri, Robin, combined with a Subrata, it’s a rock solid combination that can take on the attack. So, that was a plus point for us and worked well for us.
Thoughts on Jitu and Narender being part of the playing XI
They played really well actually. Narender was just behind me, and he played with maturity. Jitu as well kept his cool despite the Yellow Card early on and went on display his skills. Honestly, these guys are the future of football actually.
Thoughts on the upcoming home matches
This was my first match, and I am looking forward to the rest of the season. It may have started a bit late for me but better late than never. It happened and I am happy with how things turned out to be for me, for everyone. So, I am excited for the remaining season.
