David Grande: I want to score goals for the team, that’s what I am here for...

David Grande put pen to paper with Jamshedpur FC on 6 Jan 2020 for the remaining duration of the Indian Super League (ISL) season. The left-footed Spanish forward will add to Iriondo’s arsenal with his ability to finish the ball. The determined 28-year-old is raring to go and make an instant mark for his new club.

Having played in the Second Division in Spain for the likes of Malaga CF II, Granada CF II, and most recently, Unionistas - where Grande scored 9 goals in 18 appearances, the newbie has a strong ambition to get his name on the scoresheet for his new side and impress the fans at The Furnace.

In his first exclusive chat as a Jamshedpur FC player, here is what David had to say…

On signing with Jamshedpur FC and working with head coach, Antonio Iriondo.

It’s a very special moment to be able to join Jamshedpur FC, which is a very important club in India. I am very happy to be here, and I am looking forward to playing my first match for the team.

I am very happy to be playing under head coach, Antonio Iriondo. He is such a prestigious coach in Spain, and I love his philosophy, I think I will fit in very well. I can’t wait to get started with training and play with the boys.

A message for the Jamshedpur FC fans.

I just want to let all the fans know that I am very happy to be here (in Jamshedpur), and I will do everything to make you feel proud of the team, and of me. I want to score as many goals as I can, so by the end of the season, the fans can be happy with the team’s performance. I am looking forward to keeping my form from Spain up here in Jamshedpur and continue to score goals in the Jamshedpur FC jersey and show them how proud I feel for the confidence they have shown.

On Jamshedpur FC’s football philosophy and his ambition with the club in the ISL.

I love attacking football and I love to score goals so the style of play at Jamshedpur FC fits me very well. I want to score goals for the team, that’s what I am here for. My goal for the remaining bit of the season is to ensure the team finishes in the top-four and contends for the trophy in the Semi-Finals (of the ISL).
