Jamshedpur, April 6: With just two days to go for one of the biggest fixtures of the season, Jamshedpur FC defender Stephen Eze has called on supporters to turn up in numbers and create a formidable atmosphere when the Men of Steel take on Mumbai City FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on April 9 th at 7.30 PM.
As Jamshedpur FC gear up for a crucial encounter in the title race, Eze emphasised the importance of fan support, urging the faithful to “throw everything” behind the team in what promises to be a high-intensity battle.
“We know how important this match is for us,” Eze said. “These are the games that can define the season, and we need our fans with us. When the stadium is full and loud, it gives us extra energy on the pitch.”
The Men of Steel are training hard for the crucial match. Jamshedpur FC are on third position in the league table but only three points less than the table leaders Mumbai City FC. Mumbai City FC have not lost a match in the league so far and is in good form after their win against Odisha FC in their previous match.
Eze revealed that preparations have been sharp and demanding as the squad looks to be at its best for the challenge ahead.
“The training has been very intense,” he said. “Everyone is working hard, the tempo is high, and you can see that the players are ready. We know what we have to do, and we are preparing ourselves in the best way possible.”
Jamshedpur FC have enjoyed a strong start to the season and currently find themselves firmly in the mix at the top of the table. A win would help the team to mount a serious challenge for the title. The team has been resilient so far as they have staged several comebacks in multiple games to earn crucial points and Eze believes that fans’ support has been key to their formidable attitude so far in the league.
“We will give everything on the pitch, that is for sure,” he said. “But the fans also play a big role. We want them to come, support us from the first minute to the last, and push us forward. Together, we can make it very difficult for any team that comes here.”
Known for his commanding presence at the back, Eze has been a key figure in Jamshedpur FC’s defensive solidity this season.
“This is our home, this is our stadium,” he said. “We want to make it a fortress. We ask the fans to come and stand with us, and we will fight for them on the pitch.”
