Jamshedpur, March 10: Defender Stephen Eze says confidence is high within Jamshedpur FC as the team prepares for a challenging away fixture against NorthEast United FC in the Indian Super League on March 15.
Eze, who scored the winning goal in the recent victory over Inter Kashi, has been a key presence at both ends of the pitch. With Jamshedpur enjoying a strong run of results, the Nigerian centre-back believes the team must carry the same focus into the upcoming away matches.
Speaking about his recent performances, Eze said the credit belongs to the entire team. “I’m happy to help the team whenever I can, whether it is defending or scoring. But the most important thing is that we keep winning and working together as a group,” he said.
Jamshedpur’s next challenge comes away from home against NorthEast United, a side Eze knows well after scoring in last season’s playoff clash between the two teams.
“I remember that game well. It was an important match and I was able to score. But every match is different, and this time we know it will be another tough challenge away from home,” he said.
With two consecutive away fixtures coming up, Eze emphasised the importance of maintaining discipline and momentum.
“Away games are always difficult in this league, but if we stay focused, defend well and take our chances, we believe we can continue our good run,” he added.
Jamshedpur will be hoping their strong defensive organisation and growing confidence can help them extend their winning streak when they travel to face NorthEast United in Guwahati.
