FC Goa Edge Past Jamshedpur FC 2-0 in Rain-Soaked Super Cup Clash

Goa, October 26: Jamshedpur FC fell 0-2 to FC Goa at a rain-drenched match at Fatorda Stadium. The Men of Steel struggled to convert early chances despite creating multiple openings, and Goa made them pay with clinical finishing.

The match started with high intensity as Nikola Stojanović and Messi Bouli made their Jamshedpur FC debuts. Early in the first half, Messi Bouli had a golden opportunity one-on-one with the Goa goalkeeper but saw his shot brilliantly blocked. Jamshedpur continued to press, winning consecutive corners, with Vincy testing the keeper from distance and Rei Tachikawa delivering a precise ball for Bouli, who couldn’t connect with the open goal.

Despite Jamshedpur’s attacking intent, FC Goa struck just before halftime. Former Men of Steel striker Javier Siverio, who was part of Jamshedpur FC last season, found the net in the 45th minute to give Goa a 1-0 lead going into the break.

The second half saw Jamshedpur push for an equaliser in challenging rainy conditions, but their efforts were undone once again in the 66th minute when Drazic doubled Goa’s advantage. The Men of Steel tried to respond, but Goa’s defensive solidity made it difficult to create clear-cut opportunities.

The match ended 2-0 in favour of FC Goa. Jamshedpur FC will face North East United FC in their next Group B fixture on October 29.
