From Spain with love: A Carlos Calvo Love Story

The City of Jamshedpur is known for its innate pluralism. We love to embrace difference and spread similar approach across the nation. Since Jamshedpur FC’s existence, our ideology has gone global and we started extending our love and respect globally as well, through the talents who play for the club, the city and the people of Jamshedpur. This Valentine’s Day has given us an opportunity to know about the life of the players who work extremely hard for the club with the passion for the sport.

On this special occasion, we sat with Carlos Calvo to learn about his love and how the feeling and the relationship help him become a better human being every day? When questioned about the evolution of his relationship, he said, “We were best friends earlier and we have been together for three years and she is a football fan. We used to live in the same locality. We met each other at a party, through our mutual friends.”

In a human relationship, two things are inevitable. Pounding love shared between each other and excruciating fights. Since we had the entire session to speak about the love he has for his partner, we wanted to spend a little time to know about their fights and apprehensions. When asked about the former, he cleverly said, “I’m a difficult character, but she balances it out and we don’t have a lot of fights. I will be the first one to say sorry and make up for it, if we do end up fighting.”

Albeit being a country known for its rich and varied heritage, the visitors do find multiple things interesting than just the traditions and the heritage. We asked Calvo about his girlfriend's stay in India and how she likes it here? “She likes it here, even though there’s not a lot to do in the city. She likes to travel a lot, but we can’t travel that much because of my busy schedule. I want to see the Taj Mahal and visit Nepal.”

We were about the wrap the session and as a final question, we asked Carlos Calvo about his first Valentine’s Day with his Girlfriend, he disappointingly said, “We didn’t do anything special because I was in Barcelona with my team,” a sudden change in his reaction, a happy one, and he continued, “but on our second Valentine’s Day, we went out for dinner and I got her some Chocolates and Flowers.” He finished the session with a smile on his face that projected the memories he cherished.
