Jamshedpur, March 23: Jamshedpur FC U17 forward Heeranganba Seram has been selected in the India U17 men’s squad for a series of international friendlies in Lopburi, Thailand, as the Blue Colts continue their preparations for the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026.
India, coached by Bibiano Fernandes, will face Thailand on March 25, Indonesia on March 28 and Korea Republic on March 31 in behind-closed-doors friendlies. The matches form an important part of the team’s build-up to the AFC U17 Asian Cup, where India have been drawn in Group D alongside Australia, Uzbekistan and DPR Korea.
Seram’s latest national team call-up comes as another proud moment for Jamshedpur FC’s youth development pathway. The talented forward has continued to make steady progress over the past few months, building on the performances that first earned him a place in India’s U17 set-up during the AFC U17 Asian Cup Qualifiers campaign.
The young attacker had already shown his quality on the international stage earlier this season, featuring prominently in India’s successful qualification campaign and making a telling impact in crucial moments. He has also carried that confidence into club football, producing strong performances for Jamshedpur FC across youth competitions and underlining his reputation as one of the promising young talents in the system.
Earlier this year, Seram had joined the India U17 camp in Goa as part of the national team’s preparations, and his inclusion once again for these overseas friendlies is a reflection of his consistency and continued development.
