#HFCJFC Match Preview: Battle for the top spot against Hyderabad FC

After walking out victorious and grabbing the winning points vs SC East Bengal, the team moved up to the first position in the league table after which they climbed down to the 2nd position with Kerala Blasters moving to the top spot with an extra point in hand. The squad haven't trained since after the recovery session post the SC East Bengal match. But either way, the squad is ready for their next fixture against Hyderabad FC tonight for the second time this season.

Previously, the two sides went toe-to-toe in the month of December 2021. In their earlier meeting, the game ended in a stalemate with a goal seen on both ends of the pitch; the teams walked out by sharing a point each at the end of the night. Goals by the vicious finishers, Greg Stewart and Bartholomew Ogbeche, kept the game competitive as both teams fought hard to take the lead over the other to grab the victory, but the defences on both ends ensured they did not let any more goals slip in, thus ending the game in 1-1 draw.

Hyderabad FC have had a fairly successful season so far with just 2 losses and have been in either of the top 4 spots throughout the campaign with some big margin, however, they have not won a game in their last 3 games. On the other hand, Jamshedpur FC have had a similar run in their campaign as well and have been battling it out in the top spots right from the beginning of the season. The Men of Steel have registered 2 consecutive wins after their loss against Chennaiyin FC in the start of 2022 and are just a point behind the table toppers, Kerala Blasters FC. About to face each other for the 6th time in the Hero ISL, both squads will be aiming to get the win over the other team and grab the winning points to move even higher up the table to keep them alive in the race to qualify for the play-offs.

While the Nizams would seek to register their first win over the Men of Steel ever, the Jamshedpur squad will be focused to continue their winning run and bag another one to make it 3 in a row to climb up the table.

Here are the current records of the two sides -
