Kolkata, February 21: Jamshedpur FC winger Ritwik Das made a triumphant return to the scoresheet as he found the net in Jamshedpur FC’s commanding 2-0 victory over Mohammedan SC at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan. The midfielder, who battled through a long rehabilitation process, played a crucial role in securing three points for the Men of Steel as they moved closer to the top two in the Indian Super League (ISL) standings.
Ritwik expressed his delight at making an impact after an extended spell away from the pitch. "It feels amazing to be back on the scoresheet after being away from the pitch for so long. Scoring again always brings a positive feeling and boosts confidence," he said.
The 27-year-old has endured a challenging journey back to full fitness after being sidelined for a year due to injury. Speaking about his road to recovery, he shared, "Recovering from injury is a year-long process that involves proper rehabilitation, strengthening, and then working towards match fitness. It’s a tough challenge, both physically and mentally, but injuries are part of any sport. I tried to navigate it as gracefully as possible."
Ritwik’s return has added further depth to Jamshedpur FC’s attacking options as they gear up for a crucial phase of the season. Grateful for his opportunity to start the game, he emphasized how every minute on the pitch helps him improve. "Starting a match for my team is always a great feeling. Every minute on the pitch adds to my experience, helps me grow in confidence, and motivates me to keep improving," he noted.
