Jamshedur FC (Jordan Murray 44, Rei Tachikawa 29) bt Hyderabad FC 1 (C. Goddard 50)
Jamshedpur, October 21: Jamshedpur FC continued their winning streak at home as first-half goals from Rei Tachikawa and Jordan Murray helped them secure a 2-1 victory over Hyderabad FC in the Indian Super League (ISL) match at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Monday.
With the win, Jamshedpur FC climbed to second place in the ISL table, behind Bengaluru FC, with 12 points from five matches.
Head coach Khalid Jamil retained the same lineup that had triumphed over East Bengal FC, with Rei Tachikawa and Mohammed Sanan in the starting eleven. Rei rewarded his coach’s faith when, in the 29th minute, Imran Khan's shot struck the post. Sanan collected the rebound and set up Imran, who then passed to Rei, allowing him to score Jamshedpur’s opener.
Both Rei and Murray had additional chances later in the half but couldn’t convert them into goals. In the 41st minute, goalkeeper Albino Gomes made a crucial save, tipping a powerful shot from Ramhlunchhunga over the bar.
Just two minutes later, Jordan Murray doubled Jamshedpur's lead with a right-footed shot from the left side of the box, thanks to a precise through ball from Mohammed Sanan.
Hyderabad FC came out stronger in the second half, and in the 50th minute, Goddard scored from close range to narrow the deficit to 2-1. Mohammed Sanan later had another attempt, a right-footed shot from the left side of the box, but it was blocked, with Rei Tachikawa providing the assist.
Jamshedpur FC held on to their one-goal advantage to secure all three points, making it three wins from three home matches at the Furnace. They will next face NorthEast United FC in an away match on October 26.
