Jamshedpur FC and Bengaluru FC play out an entertaining 2 - 2 draw

Sree Kanteerava Stadium witnessed a Indian Super League classic as Jamshedpur FC and Bengaluru FC played out a 2 - 2 draw. The match went right to the wire as Sergio Cidoncha scored a stoppage-time equalizer for the away side. Nishu Kumar and Sunil Chhetri were the scorers for Bengaluru FC while Gourav Mukhi had equalized earlier in the game for the visitors.

The first interval saw a frantic half of football where both the teams played safely and did not take much risks. Both the sides had a number of half chances but failed to make it count. Then, right at the stroke of half time, Nishu Kumar, the BFC full-back gave the hosts the lead through a stunning volley from the edge of the box.

Jamshedpur FC had a mountain to climb after the break but Cesar Ferrando and his men looked up for the task from the get-go. The away team attacked with intent and after the arrival of debutant, Gourav Mukhi, Jamshedpur FC became a threat in possession. With the game entering the final 10 minutes, pressure was rising on Jamshedpur FC to salvage a draw.

And then came the moment of the 16-year-old! Mukhi was found brilliantly by Mario Arques as the teenager went through on goal. Mukhi took his chance brilliantly and scored the equalizer in the 81st minute, finishing a deft move past a hapless Gurpreet Singh Sandhu.

But Bengaluru FC came right back into the game, courtesy of Sunil Chhetri. In the 88th minute, Harmanjot Khabra played a long ball into the box which was headed in by Sunil Chhetri. The home side were heading towards a victory as the referee added four extra minutes.

But Sergio Cidoncha and co. had some other plans! Mario Arques found some space on the right and played a pinpoint ball to Cidoncha who placed it in the back of the net. The match at the Kanteerava turned out to be a nail-biting encounter with the game delivering fine goals and action until the last kick of the game.

Jamshedpur FC will next play against ATK at the Furnace on October 21 in what will be their first home match of the season.
