Jamshedpur FC Assistant Coach Steven Dias spoke to the media ahead of an all-important clash against Kerala B

On the strategy against Kerala Blasters FC…

There isn't any unique tactic at play here, akin to our approach during the Super Cup match. Following a prolonged hiatus, the players have regrouped with a strong sense of concentration. Training sessions are progressing smoothly, with coaches having thoroughly outlined offensive and defensive responsibilities to the players. Consequently, we're inclined to stick with our prior strategy, one that we've previously initiated and are now resuming after the break. Our intention is to persist with this approach and anticipate favourable outcomes.

On the challenge ahead…

The challenge ahead is formidable as all teams demonstrates comparable strength. Thus, our primary objective is to secure qualification. However, speaking from a personal standpoint, I firmly believe that our players and team warrant a position in the top 6 and merit qualification. Undoubtedly, rigorous effort will be invested. Currently, the team is performing admirably. With the backing of our fans, we are confident in our ability to secure qualification.

On the potential of young talent…

Sanan, Imran, and Vishal have recently rejoined the team from their stint with the Indian team. Their return undoubtedly attests to their capabilities. Moreover, our training sessions have been intensive, focusing extensively on both offensive and defensive aspects. Consequently, we're witnessing a cohesive blend during our training drills. Thus, there's a possibility that this cohesion may translate into success in tomorrow's match.

On the opportunity to coach the team tomorrow…

Certainly, without a doubt. This presents a significant opportunity for me. Having previously served as head coach for Odisha, I recognize the magnitude of this chance. I am committed to giving my utmost effort, aiming for victory in the upcoming match.

Message to the fans…

Football thrives on the presence of fans; they are an integral part of the game. Hence, I earnestly urge you all to come out in large numbers. The enthusiastic support from the stands not only boosts the morale of players and coaches but also enhances their performance. So, I implore fans to show up in great numbers and stand by us. Rest assured, we will give our utmost on the field in our pursuit to qualify for the ISL.

Journey of ISL…

The ISL has significantly propelled forward, particularly due to the arrival of skilled foreign players. Their contributions have played a pivotal role in the development of football in this region. Undoubtedly, their influence has been substantial and beneficial. Looking ahead, if we continue to attract more talented players, there's much we can glean from their expertise. From a personal perspective, I don't perceive any disparity between Indian and foreign players. We stand firmly with our Indian counterparts, who are currently excelling. Their performances are gaining recognition on the global stage, and this trend is set to continue.
