Jamshedpur FC begins Grassroots Football Schools venture at DAV Public School

Jamshedpur FC has started its next Grassroots Football Schools initiative with DAV Public School in Bistupur, Jamshedpur.

The start of the Football Schools initiative with DAV was met with a phenomenal response, with as many as 77 students formally registering themselves and many more students expected to be added as the program kicks into a higher gear.

“We are very pleased to add DAV Public School to our thriving Grassroots Football Schools program,” said Jamshedpur FC Head of Grassroots, Mr. Kundan Chandra.

“DAV students have contributed greatly to the city of Jamshedpur in sports, academics and extracurricular activities and we hope that through our coaching, the students will also achieve overall development and growth.

“We would like to express our appreciation towards DAV and its staff for letting us coach the kids and say thank you to the parents for their undying support.”

The collaboration with DAV comes after Jamshedpur FC restarted the Grassroots Football Schools initiative after a three year hiatus and began the latest program at Carmel Junior College, Loyola School, Jamshedpur Public School and Hill Top School in the city of Jamshedpur.

The children involved with this Football Schools program have been placed in five categories depending on their ages, namely Under 5, Under 7, Under 9, Under 11 and Under 13. A number of coaches have been assigned specifically for this program, namely Sourav Sarkar, Sadanand Mahato, Yadav Choudhary, Indro Kumar Hembrom, Siddharth Mukhi, Chandan Karwa and Priya Tiwari.

The program is currently going to be held three days a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7 AM to 8 AM at DAV Public School.

The players will also get an opportunity to showcase the skills learned at the Football Schools training centres at the Jamshedpur Golden Baby League 2023, which features children from schools across Jamshedpur competing in matches across several age categories every Sunday morning at Archery Ground at the JRD Tata Sports Complex.
