Jamshedpur, August 3: Following the recognition by the Indian Super League (ISL) as the Best Grassroots Programme in the country, Jamshedpur FC dedicated the award to its grassroots coaches at Sir Dorabji Tata Park.

The event was attended by Jamshedpur FC CEO Mukul Choudhari, General Manager Prashant Godbole, and Head of Youth and Grassroots Kundan Chandra, who joined the grassroots coaches and support staff for a group photograph.

Speaking on the occasion, Kundan Chandra said, “This award belongs to every coach who has shown up on the pitch, rain or shine, to teach the game with passion and purpose. They are the foundation of our youth development, and today’s recognition is a tribute to their commitment.”

Jamshedpur FC’s grassroots programme currently operates Football Schools across Loyola School, Carmel Junior College, JRD Tata Sports Complex Artificial Turf, Armoury Ground and Tinplate Sports Complex, engaging over 350 children in various age groups. The club also works closely with the Tata Steel Foundation to expand grassroots football into rural areas, providing technical support and coaching education in under-served communities.

Additionally, the club organises large-scale competitions like the Jamshedpur Super League offering consistent match experience to hundreds of boys and girls throughout the year. Initiatives such as the Father's and Mother's Division have further helped build a community-driven football culture, making the grassroots ecosystem inclusive and sustainable.

Also, the JFC Youth teams have seen considerable success in various tournaments across the age groups in the past seasons.
