Jamshedpur FC excited to start the season with Durand Cup

18th July ‘22 Jamshedpur:

The Men of Steel have been drawn in group A of the tournament along with Hero ISL sides FC Goa, Bengaluru, I-League sides Mohammedan SC, and the Indian Air Force football team. This will be the second time JFC will be taking part in one of Asia’s oldest football tournaments.

The Durand Cup this time is being organized in a bigger format with teams from both Hero Indian Super League and Hero I-League taking part along with the Army teams. Twenty teams divided into four groups of five teams each will play in a round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will qualify to play the quarterfinals. It is scheduled to start on 16th August 2022 and Jamshedpur FC will play across three venues; Saltlake Stadium, Naihati Stadium, and Kishore Bharati Stadium in West Bengal

Gaffer Aidy Boothroyd is quite excited about the team taking part in the coveted championship. 

A young dynamic Jamshedpur side led by assistant coach Noel Wilson will travel to the city of joy early next month.
