Jamshedpur, October 8: Jamshedpur FC have announced contract extensions for defenders Praful Kumar and Kartik Choudhary, reinforcing their defensive core ahead of the 2025–26 season. Praful has signed a three-year extension following an impressive Durand Cup campaign, while Kartik has earned a one-year deal as he continues his development with the Men of Steel.
Praful joined Jamshedpur FC ahead of the Durand Cup and quickly made an impact with his commanding presence and attacking instincts from the back. Known for his long throws, strong defensive reading, and ability to contribute in attack, he recorded a goal, an assist, and a Player of the Match award during the tournament.
“I’m very happy to continue my journey with Jamshedpur FC,” said Praful. “This club has given me the opportunity to test myself among top players and grow every day. The fans here make it special, and I want to keep giving my best for the team.”
Kartik Choudhary, an upcoming young defender who has been with the club since last season, has shown steady progress under the guidance of Head Coach Steven Dias. The 20-year-old marked his Durand Cup debut with a composed performance, providing a crucial assist against the Indian Army. in the Durand Cup, displaying composure and maturity beyond his years.
“It feels great to continue with Jamshedpur FC,” said Kartik. “Training alongside experienced players has helped me a lot, and I want to keep improving and make a bigger contribution to the team in the coming season.”

Jamshedpur FC are currently training in Jamshedpur under the guidance of Steven Dias as they gear up for their Group B fixtures in Goa. The Men of Steel will open their campaign against FC Goa on October 26, followed by matches against North East United FC on October 29 and Inter Kashi on November 1.
