#MDSJFC Match Report: A tough loss for the Men of Steel

Jamshedpur FC faces another tough loss in the second fixture of the 131st edition of the Durand Cup as they went down 0-3 against Mohammedan SC. 

The game began with both teams creating chances in the opening minutes. While  Mohammedan SC came close with the opportunities in the first few plays. Jamshedpur FC custodian Mohit Dhami was alert enough to make no mistakes in keeping the ball out of the net. Gradually Mohammedan SC took good control of the game generating waves of attack. But the Men of Steel held their end well resisting the opposition from taking the lead. The Jamshedpur FC lads mostly relied on the counter-attack but could not find the space across the Mohammedan defense.

Jamshedpur got their best chance of the evening when forward, Vinil Pujari nearly scored from a freekick. He aimed to put the ball into the top right corner but was inches away from finding the net. Mohammedan SC’s continuous attacking hunt finally came to fruition just ahead of the break. As Faslu found the net from a loose ball near the post in the 38th minute. A corner kick attempt towards the goal was saved by Mohit Dhami in the first attempt. But Faslu did no mistake to collect the rebound. 

Minutes later, the Men of Steel had a chance to equalize. As forward Mawia tried to find the net from a cross but instead hit the crossbar. The first half came to an end with Jamshedpur FC being at a deficit of one goal. 

Coming back from the break the Jamshedpur lads kept their hunt on for the equalizer. The fixture heated up as a couple of rough challenges from both squads were exchanged. As the game entered its final twenty minutes, Mohammedan SC extended their lead to three with two goals within the next two minutes. At first, in the 71st minute, Abhishek Halder beautifully finished a lobbed pass with a delightful chip over Mohi Dhami. Moments later, another quick Mohammedan attack was slotted into the goal by Faiaz in the 74th minute.

Despite the scoreline, the colts held their heads up and kept putting up a valiant effort. For the rest of the game, Mohammedan SC controlled the majority of the possession as they ended the game maintaining a clean sheet.
