Jamshedpur FC Gears Up for Indian Army Challenge After Confident Start

Jamshedpur, July 27: After a spirited 3-2 win over Tribhuvan Army FC in their Durand Cup opener, Jamshedpur FC has returned to the training pitch at Flatlets Ground to begin preparation for their second Group C clash, this time against Indian Army Football Team, scheduled for July 29 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex at 4 PM.

The Men of Steel looked sharp in their first outing, with goals from Sarthak Golui, Manvir Singh and Nikhil Barla sealing three points in front of a vibrant home crowd. The performance stood out not just for the result, but for the energy and structure shown by a relatively young squad handpicked by head coach Khalid Jamil.

Players like Praful Kumar and Vincy Barretto impressed with their composure and work rate, while goalkeeper Amrit Gope held his line confidently to secure a clean sheet.

The team returned to training less than 48 hours after the win, with sessions focused on recovery, tactical adjustments, and maintaining intensity ahead of a physically strong Indian Army side. Khalid Jamil is expected to stick with a similar blend of youth and experience as he looks to build rhythm and chemistry in these early stages of the season.

All eyes will be on how the team adapts to a fresh challenge, especially with quick turnarounds and high expectations from the home crowd. A second consecutive win would put JFC in a strong position to qualify for the knockout rounds.
