Jamshedpur FC goes down 3-1 against Chennaiyin FC

Chennai: Jamshedpur FC suffers another Hero ISL defeat as Chennaiyin win with a final score of 3-1 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai.

With key defenders unavailable due to injury, Aidy Boothroyd started the game with a major change in the formation. The gaffer switched to a 3-5-2 formation instead of his regular 4-4-2, giving Ishan Pandita and Md. Uvais their first start of the season.

Jamshedpur FC started well, making some early attacking moves. Chennaiyin mostly relied on quick counter-attacks. Chennaiyin FC’s Prashant kept on knocking the defense on behalf of the hosts.

The Men of Steel suffered an early blow around the 16th-minute mark when Wellington Priori was stretched off the ground due to a groin injury. Aidy was forced to make an early substitution bringing Len into the midfield who poured in his all in order to end the first half in an advantageous position.

In the 27th minute, Chennaiyin FC opened up the scoring for the night. Rehenesh pulled off a save from Jockson’s first strike but Sliskovic made sure the deflection goes into the net which took them to the lead.

For the rest of the first half, Jamshedpur FC continued to maintain a high line as they kept on looking for chances to convert into the back of the net. But the hosts kept the Jamshedpur FC’s defence busy with their swift counterattacks.

Coming back from the break, Aidy made the second substitution of the game as Md. Uvais made way for Harry Sawyer.

Finally, Pandita scored the long-awaited equalizer with a volley in the 76th minute. But the joy of coming back into the game didn't last long as Chennaiyin took back the lead in the very next play in the next minute.
