Jamshedpur, September 29: Jamshedpur FC have announced the contract extensions of defender Pratik Chaudhari and goalkeeper Amrit Gope, with both players signing fresh two-year deals that will see them remain with the Men of Steel until 2027.
Pratik, who rejoined Jamshedpur FC in 2022 after his earlier stint in the 2018-19 season, has been a defensive mainstay for the club. Last season, he forged a strong partnership with Stephen Eze at the back, playing a vital role in guiding Jamshedpur FC to the semifinals of the Indian Super League and the final of the Super Cup. The 35-year-old has amassed over 137 ISL appearances across his career, representing clubs such as Jamshedpur FC, Kerala Blasters, Delhi Dynamos, Mumbai City FC, and Bengaluru FC.
Speaking after signing the extension, Pratik expressed his delight at continuing his journey in Jamshedpur. “This club has always been close to my heart. Coming back to the Furnace in 2022 felt like returning home, and the past few seasons have been incredibly special. I’m proud to be part of this team and to contribute to its growth. Extending my contract means I can continue to give my best for the fans and the city.”
Goalkeeper Amrit Gope, a Jamshedpur-born lad who rose through the ranks from the JSA Premier Division to the club’s reserves, also committed his future to the Men of Steel. After gaining experience with TRAU FC and Bengaluru FC, Amrit returned to his hometown club two years ago. His recent performances in the Durand Cup, where he was entrusted as the first-choice goalkeeper, earned him praise for his confident displays between the sticks.
Amrit said he was proud to continue with the team he grew up supporting. “It feels very good to play in my city in front of my own people. I am so happy to renew the contract. For me, it is an honour to wear this jersey, and I want to continue developing and getting better every day.”
Jamshedpur FC’s Head Coach Steve Dias, welcomed the extensions, highlighting the value both players bring to the squad. “Pratik has been a pillar of strength for our defense and his leadership on the pitch is vital for us. Amrit, on the other hand, has shown tremendous promise and confidence, especially in the Durand Cup. Keeping them both ensures we strike the right balance of experience and local talent as we build for the future.”
