The Jamshedpur FC Reserve Team beat defending Champions Tata Motors 2-0 at JRD Tata Sports Complex in the JSA League Premier Division semi-finals to book their spot in the final of the top division of the league.
Both sides exchanged blows in front of a large crowd at the Furnace in the first half, and a big moment came in the 20th minute when Aashaman Hembrom was sent off for Tata Motors, but it ended 0-0 at half-time with all to play for in the second period.
It was Jamshedpur who came out firing in the second half, and took the lead thanks to a penalty kick from Chawngthu Lalraiatpuia in the 61st minute. Despite Gourav Mukhi making an impression for Tata Motors after coming on in the second half, the Champions were unable to score an equaliser.
SK Salauddin sealed the deal in stoppage time as he scored just before the final whistle to make it 2-0 and give JFC a huge win and secure their spot in the finals of the Premier Division where they will face the winners of Tata Steel and Babulal Soren Football Academy.
Elsewhere, Adivasi Green Sporting Club won 2-1 against Marshal Club at Armoury Ground in the A Division (Group A), while the other A Division (Group A) match between Classic Eight and Mohammedan Sporting Club at Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium, Telco had to be called off after both teams failed to show up for the game.
