Jamshedpur FC Reserves beat Tata Steel 3-1 to win JSA League Premier Division trophy at JRD Tata Sports Compl

 

 

The Jamshedpur FC Reserves Team were crowned Champions of the JSA League Premier Division as they beat Tata Steel 3-1 at JRD Tata Sports Complex.

Both teams had dominant league stage runs to the final and huge crowds were witnessed at the stadium under the floodlights, and the encounter did not disappoint. The first half saw both sides sparring and Tata Steel took the lead thanks to a goal from Dhanjay Hansdah in the 11th minute.

The JFC Reserves took time to gather themselves but were handed a major lifeline as they equalised just before half-time thanks to a goal from Bivan Jyoti Lasker in the 43rd minute.

In the second half, Jamshedpur FC looked the stronger side and found opportunities in front of goal. Eventually, the young Men of Steel scored the all-important second goal in the 70th minute thanks to a strike from Alvies Bastin. The final nail in the coffin came in the 95th minute as Bivan Jyoti Lasker got his second of the game to wrap it all up.

The final was a huge success with large crowds present and the Jamshedpur FC senior team squad led by Head Coach Scott Cooper, and participants of Jamshedpur FC’s Football Schools program from various schools across Jamshedpur also present to cheer the two teams on at JRD Tata Sports Complex.

Mr. Chanakya Choudhary (VPCS, TATA STEEL) graced the event as Chief Guest and presented the Winners Trophy to Jamshedpur FC Reserves. Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary (President - Tata Workers Union) graced the event as Guest of Honour and presented the Runners Up Trophy to Tata Steel. Jamshedpur FC CEO, Mukul Choudhari felicitated all the guests of honour and presented the S. Zubair Alam Award for Fair Play to Narwa Pahar Sports Club.

P Vijay Kumar Award for Highest Goal Scorer of the League was given by Jamshedpur FC Head Coach, Mr. Scott Cooper to Vikash Nayak of Tata Steel. The Ramesh Mehata Award for Best Goalkeeper of the League was given by Mr. Dragan Draskovic, Jamshedpur FC Goalkeeping Coach, to Luckystar Lawai of Jamshedpur FC Reserves. Finally, the KC Murmu Award for Best Player of the match was awarded to Dhananjay Hansda of Tata Steel by Jamshedpur FC Assistant Coach, Mr. Hezirdan Ramadani.
