Jamshedpur FC Reserves Cruise Past Senapati FC in RFDL Opener

Shillong, December 5: Jamshedpur FC Reserves began their Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) campaign with a commanding 3-0 victory over Senapati Football Club at the MFA Ground in Shillong on December 5. The young Red Miners, led by captain Puia, showcased their attacking flair and defensive solidity to secure three points in the Rest of India regional qualifiers.

The first half saw Jamshedpur FC dominate possession, with Remson, Amzad, Zuala, and Puia orchestrating smooth attacking transitions. Puia, in particular, was lively, creating multiple chances but struggling to convert until the 13th minute when he broke the deadlock. Receiving a precise pass from Amzad on the right, Puia cut inside and delivered a clinical finish to the far post, giving Jamshedpur an early lead.

The defensive unit, anchored by goalkeeper Adnan, held firm, restricting Senapati FC to just two shots on target in the first half. Adnan pulled off an acrobatic save in the dying moments of the half to ensure Jamshedpur entered the break with their advantage intact. Despite creating several opportunities, including a golden chance for Zuala in the 44th minute that went over the bar, Jamshedpur could not add to their tally before halftime.

The second half began with Jamshedpur doubling their lead in the 50th minute. A long ball from Adnan found Zuala, who outpaced the Senapati defense and calmly slotted past the goalkeeper. Six minutes later, Remson sealed the victory, heading in a perfectly placed cross from Amzad to make it 3-0.

Jamshedpur’s dominance continued through the remainder of the game, as they controlled possession and limited Senapati’s opportunities to mount a comeback. The victory sets the tone for their campaign as they look ahead to their next match against SAI RC on December 7 at 2 PM.
